Beit Chai

I moved my mother to Beit Chai in January of this year, and she remained there till she was moved to hospice in May. I am truly grateful for the kindness, care, patience, and thoughtfulness of all the staff and of the owners. I would recommend this residence without hesitation.

My mother, Ruth Block, was a happy resident of Beit Chai for 4 1/2 years until she died in hospital Feb. 14 just shy of her 107th birthday. Her last years were spent there, and we could not have asked for a better senior home: I visited there at least twice a week and, after a short adjustment period, Ruth was happy and well-looked after: Her room and all the public areas were spotless. She loved the food, the caregivers were kind and attentive, she enjoyed the Jewish specialties, like gefilte fish and Kosher hot dogs, the Friday night dinners, the holiday events, Bingo, visiting singers, and in-chair exercise. Her cognitive was strong, but toward the end needed a lot of personal attention, from feeding to personal care, and Ruth was always grateful for the way she was treated. So was I and the rest of her family.
