Chartwell Domaine Notre-Dame

My relative moved in a few weeks ago and is satisfied with the variety and quality of the meals served. He enjoys the on-site activities, which allow him to make new friends, and the atmosphere among the residents is generally very cheerful. It's not an easy step when you decide to sell your home to move into a retirement residence. On moving day, he wasn't even notified that his unit was ready. They did the bare minimum of repairs before he moved in. He had to make a list of several problems with the unit. They had several days before he could move in. Since my relative moved in, he has had a lot of difficulty getting maintenance service. The manager was often on vacation and didn't return calls, and the assistant manager (who wasn't very friendly) didn't seem willing to pass on messages to the manager. Maintenance often takes two or three steps before they can even do a repair. The process seems lengthy compared to the Gatineau facility, where they simply fill out a form and the repair/replacement is done the same day. My relative's repairs are really happening at a snail's pace. He's still waiting over a month for a part to be installed after several frustrating reminders. When you decide to make these changes, it's to make your life easier and more pleasant, as they say. You don't need all these complications, stress, and anxiety at this stage of life. Regarding the lease, there seems to be some injustice. I recommend you be vigilant. For some tenants, the mini-storage unit (locker) in the basement, which should be included with the lease, is no longer offered. And for others, it's offering up to two months of free rent. Another tenant moved in around the same time as my relative and will also get two free months. I hope these comments will help you make informed decisions in the future!

It is never easy to realize that one of our loved ones has reached the stage of assisted living because it causes stress, anxiety, and distress. Thanks to Mélanie, the rental agent, Domaine Notre-Dame gave us a warm and friendly welcome. She was warm and reassured us throughout the rental process. Her kind and patient approach reassured us about what's next, about the new chapter that is beginning for all of us. We will be at the residence next week, and during our many visits, we met staff who seemed attentive, smiling, and friendly towards the residents. They all seem to be part of a big, beautiful family!

I visited this location a few times. At all times I found Annick the person responsible for activities with the residents, to be very warm and pleasant to all the residents. She and her staff addressed all the residents with a smile and patience. All the activities that she has planned have been carefully selected with the residents in mind.

My mother-in-law moved into this lovely residence a year ago. There are lots of great activities and outings for seniors. My mother-in-law is very happy.

My parents are really happy at Chartwell their only regrets is they waited to long before moving to a residence. Thay have made many friends and definetly enjoy the 3 meals a day in a beautiful dining room and all the activities that they can choose from. All the care that they need is there. Chartwell residence is the place to choose for your parents.
