4.0 / 5We arrived on January 5, 2026. We are very satisfied with our accommodations and the services. Also, the amenities like the Chartwell bus and the wide variety of activities are outstanding. Thank you to Chartwell and all the courteous staff who contribute to the happiness of each resident.
Following the death of our resident, my grandfather, the residence refused his daughter and presumed legal heir access to retrieve the will. The facility ignored our inheritance rights, opting instead for a purely administrative contact. There was no cooperation, no support. We had to fight to get the bereavement and funeral arrangements underway. Extremely disappointing.
I felt too young to live in a retirement residence for independent seniors. During my visit, I was surprised to see elderly people walking in the hallways, sometimes with the help of a walker because their bodies had weakened, but all smiling and greeting me with genuine joy. I met one who told me, "I've lived here for 24 years, I'm 93 years old, and I didn't come here to die." She was showing the residence to a new resident. In fact, nine people are over 100 years old, including one who is 106. After that visit, I decided to move here. There are plenty of activities to fill our days, but above all, what impresses me is the quality of the staff. They are kind and attentive to the residents, making their lives easier. After three months, I can assure you it's a wonderful place to live!
Do not place your elderly relatives with cognitive problems at L'Archipel. The staff is completely untrained to provide them with proper care, and some are even disrespectful. I informed management, who assured me they are in the process of providing training... I highly doubt it.
Open House: a very warm welcome. Several residents volunteered to give tours. And some even agreed to show visitors their apartments. So, excellent organization for the day! It's a large facility with many residents. There were lots of smiles from both staff and guests. Seems like a very good place! ...to be continued...
