4.0 / 5An exceptional living environment. The Humanitae residence stands out for the quality of its services, the cleanliness of its premises, and above all, the genuine care given to its residents. The staff is professional, compassionate, and always attentive. The spaces are modern, welcoming, and well-maintained. A residence that inspires confidence, respect, and peace of mind. I recommend it without hesitation.
If you love your loved ones, don't send them to Humanitae!! My mother entered in September 2024. She could walk, bathe with assistance, and eat independently. She was toilet-trained most of the time. Upon arrival at her residence, she was assessed as requiring more intensive care, at a cost of $100,000 per year—yes, you read that right!!! No zeros! Over time, we noticed that despite the nice clothes they bought her, they disappeared, and she wore clothes that weren't hers. Her closets were a mess. Her clothes were always dirty. The staff were very cowardly and untrained. They would lift her out of her chair by her pants!! The food was appalling; extremely salty and unbalanced for this clientele. They serve brunch on Sundays with half-cooked bacon and Kraft salad dressing. (A supervisor on site) We regularly receive calls telling us she's fallen, but that everything is fine... Her condition deteriorates rapidly; she sits in an armchair in the common room all day staring at the floor. She has recurring urinary tract infections because she isn't changed often enough. The last time, she suffered for over five days before she was given antibiotics, and that was only because I insisted, as she was in so much pain. Her condition deteriorated so rapidly that after eight months, following a gastroenteritis outbreak in the facility, her last urinary tract infection, and her fall immediately afterward, I finally demanded that she be taken to the hospital by ambulance right away because she was in so much pain; she couldn't walk, couldn't eat... She was at the end of her life due to all this neglect and lack of proper care. She died in the hospital within eight months. Her fall caused a fracture of her T12 vertebra, which is extremely painful. This is what negligence, poor judgment, and mistreatment look like, unfortunately. And the staff lacks proper training. I could go on with other examples, but you already have a good idea of why you should avoid this place for your loved ones. The Complaints Commissioner is calling to report your experience.
Following the need to relocate our parents, we wanted to find a residence that would allow both of them to live in the same apartment, thus enabling them to continue their 60-year marriage. Humanitae offered us this possibility, being themselves aware of the challenges of a couple living together. For us, as caregivers, having both our parents in the same place greatly helped us support them in their daily lives. The entire staff was dedicated to providing the best possible quality of life and care for our parents. Everyone demonstrated professionalism and warmth towards my loved ones. Clinically, actions were quickly taken to adjust interventions for their well-being. Management was attentive, open, and understanding in addressing our observations and concerns. Medically, the nursing team consistently demonstrated competence by providing high-quality care. Physically, the residence offers a bright, clean, and safe environment. Leisure activities are an important aspect at Humanitae, which helps maintain the skills acquired by loved ones. The entire leisure team is available to offer the best possible experience to each resident. Ultimately, my parents and we were fortunate to have had the opportunity to live at the Humanitae residence until the end of our lives. Thank you all, and best wishes for the future.
My father has been at Humanitae for almost two months and he's so happy there. He's surrounded by love from the wonderful staff, and the whole team makes life so much easier for caregivers. I highly recommend it to anyone. Many people don't talk about the price, but my father was in a residence that cost only $2,000 a month but with so much less service. It's worth every penny.
The place is beautiful and well-run. We were delighted with the experience my father received. The staff was extremely professional and friendly, and they called us whenever my father had a minor health issue. No facility can be perfect all the time, but simply notifying management of a problem is enough to ensure immediate action is taken. We will miss our family at Humanitae!
