We're not treated well here. They want to control everything without caring about the patient, what they want or don't want. They impose things on us against our wishes without regard for our comfort or condition. We're not given a choice; even our dignity as individuals isn't respected. They do what they want, how they want, again, without any regard for the patient's wishes. This is supposed to be a living environment, but at times we feel like we're in prison or in pediatrics. They only change our underwear three times a day, and if we have a bowel movement during mealtimes, they leave us in our own feces for an hour because they prioritize feeding the patients. When we tell them we're going to file a complaint, they tell us to go ahead and file it anyway, and when we talk to them, the complaint is often ignored. When we ask to speak to the manager to report a problem, we get no feedback or follow-up. The atmosphere is really cold; it's not a welcoming or warm place, nor is the ambiance. And that's without even mentioning the food here. It's almost inedible; it's the food that comes from the hospital, so imagine the rest! And it takes absolutely everything to get a normal adult portion; otherwise, you don't even get a child's portion. Plus, it's often cold. If you ask them to heat your plate, they often tell you they don't have time because they have to feed everyone, so you eat cold food, whether it tastes good or not. So here's my opinion on the Drummondville Seniors' and Alternative Residence. Before I came here, I was somewhere else where I was very happy, and it was the Drummondville Seniors' and Alternative Residence who approached me to come live in their residence. They made it sound so wonderful that I couldn't refuse, and I asked them lots of questions, to which they always replied positively. But once I got here, no, no, it's not like that. It's a real disappointment and a true nightmare. I'm so unhappy that I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and in a month and a half, I've lost 24 pounds, so I strongly advise against it unless you don't mind not having your rights and dignity disregarded.
