Résidence Élogia

My father resided in this facility during the COVID-19 pandemic, when families were not allowed to enter. In such a context, communication was essential. One morning, worried about not being able to reach him, I asked for a check-up. I was reassured that everything was fine. However, when I finally managed to speak to him, I immediately noticed that he was short of breath, confused, and his speech was unusual. An ambulance was eventually called. My father was hospitalized and, sadly, passed away less than a week later from complications of COVID-19. Beyond the immense loss, what remains difficult is the lack of clear communication at that critical moment, as well as the lack of openness when I subsequently tried to discuss what had happened. After his death, we had to pay two additional months of rent as stipulated in the lease. Although we had paid for this period, we were contacted on Father's Day itself to expedite its release so that a new rental could be made. In an already tragic situation, my experience felt marked by a lack of empathy and transparency. Families deserve diligence, communication, and compassion, especially during a crisis.

Lots of fire alarms during the night, very disturbing, requiring evacuations! It's not normal that the alarm for the west tower is also asking the east tower to evacuate. There's also been a long water outage, the last one lasting 12 hours...not normal considering the price they pay! Furthermore, the sewer pipes were clogged, and all the water backed up into her sink, causing water damage everywhere, even on the floor. My mother was lying down. It's never-ending; my mother wants to move. She's constantly afraid something else will happen. To be continued...

My mother, awaiting medical assistance in dying, chose this residence as her final home… even though the apartments were very expensive and tiny, like boxes of tissues, thinking she would be comfortable there… she asked an employee to help her fasten her jacket, and this was refused because it wasn't part of the services! She passed away two weeks later. I won't be the one spreading the good news of a positive experience at Elogia. Hire staff while remaining in your own home; you'll be safer there.

Very nice, brand new place. There are many recreational areas and the atmosphere is very pleasant! The staff is dedicated and very empathetic. Although there is no perfect location, this residence comes very close. The events are super well organized and varied. The recreation program has made efforts to continue offering activities during the pandemic. I would gladly live there!
