I don't usually write bad reviews online, but this one deserves it… My mother was a resident in the assisted living unit from August 2023 to June 2024, and I can tell you we went through hell: - Neglect of all kinds: the room was often unsanitary during my visits; I often found my mother covered in urine, soiled sheets, clothes washed and put away while still damp, and the food was substandard (e.g., leftover cake was offered as an evening snack, along with two or three vegetables and old leftovers from the dining room for supper). I regret not taking pictures to document the situation. For $4,200 a month, I can tell you that long-term care facilities are much, much better! The worst part is that despite the unit being locked and our assurances that the residents were safe, my mother managed to get out and walk to the IGA parking lot… We requested a copy of the security camera footage but received no response. Furthermore, the director told us that the incident occurred partly because my mother (who has a cognitive impairment) hadn't "obeyed" the instructions (see the photo below of the email exchanged with her). Following this incident, they sent my mother to the hospital and refused to take her back, while also charging us a two-month penalty because I had to terminate her lease. If you're considering sending your loved ones and paying exorbitant amounts, don't be fooled by the appearance of the place, because the quality of care is lacking. This comment only concerns the non-independent living section; I cannot share the experience of the other side. Otherwise, I have nothing to say about the work of Pierrette (the rental manager), who has always been proactive in responding to all our requests. A big thank you for her work.

The new director is truly dedicated to the residents' well-being. We talk about them every time we see each other. People seem happy to live there. The shortage of skilled labor is affecting all businesses, which unfortunately can impact services as well. I can assure you that the residents' well-being is a top priority for them.

★★★☆☆

After a few months, my parents realized that the services were of lower quality and were declining due to a lack of staff, as we were told: security at the reception desk, repairs, maintenance this winter, many complaints, most entertainment activities are paid, additional costs are imposed on residents who already pay a meal plan, for activities organized in the dining room. If residents do not agree to participate (for example, monthly birthdays), they receive a lunch box in their apartment, these additional costs can amount to up to $13 more per person. The director remains indifferent to the complaints and maintains that they do everything for the well-being of the residents without worrying about their wallets. Beautiful building without SOUL!
