What a sad place. I challenge the ministers and members of parliament to consider whether they would want their parents to live in an environment like this. Tiny, run-down rooms. Where are the healthcare managers? No consideration whatsoever for the generations who helped build our country.

Who can be proud to say their relative is there?! Someone mentioned the good parking rates at $20/year... there are only 4 spaces, otherwise you have to park on the street. The choice was forced upon us, but how sad. The ever-changing staff seems so jaded and indifferent. However, I haven't seen any signs of mistreatment, but rather indifference. The other day, a woman was on the floor when we arrived, and according to a family, she had been there for 45 minutes, with proof. We were told they were waiting for the nurse who was on another floor. They ended up putting a pillow under her head. And let's not even talk about the place, which is utterly depressing... our seniors don't deserve this. The Minister of Health wouldn't leave his own parents there.

Thank you to the incredibly caring staff for looking after my great-uncle and for being with us until his very last breath. Thank you for your devotion and for supporting us through this difficult time. Thank you for the utmost respect shown to us until the very end.

This long-term care facility is heartbreaking. We cried like children during our first visits. When I met with the unit head, Mr. Louis Sirois, regarding my mother, he brazenly replied, "They're all idiots." Filing a complaint with the CIUSSS de la Capitale Nationale is pointless; it gets us nowhere. At the beginning of winter 2017, the flu caused the deaths of several seniors, including my mother. This long-term care facility is concrete proof of the treatment the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) reserves for our parents. The sight of the meals and the stew they're given three times a day makes us want to vomit. This facility and others demonstrate the failure of the healthcare system in Quebec and the impunity of the officials responsible for this fiasco. To lighten the mood, I had prepared a songbook of well-known songs that the residents and their loved ones sang along to with me. But that didn't sit well with one of the support staff, who locked us in a small room. The head nurse, from whom I had requested permission to sing, had no objection. Some staff members do everything they can to make life even more unbearable for our elderly residents. Sincere thanks to Nurse Martin Mercier and especially to the dedicated hygiene attendants on the second floor who do a thankless job. Their kindness and professionalism are remarkable. They deserve praise and raises.

Parking problem. Not designed for people with cancer. The clientele is mixed, so there are people with profound mental illnesses who are with people who are only physically impaired; the time is long when you can't converse with your neighbors.
