When you ask for medical assistance in dying because you can't live in this long-term care facility, I think that says it all. No activities, inedible food. The care depends on the staff on duty (weekend care is lacking, and so are holiday care). Paying $2200 a month is a high price to pay for being neglected.

One of the worst long-term care facilities, I absolutely do not recommend this place for your loved ones, food is more or less good, they use auxiliary nurses as attendants, and they are not very welcoming.

My mother lost 2 kilos (4.4 lbs) during the pandemic. In short, she wasn't fed (she was already very thin before the pandemic). Due to a lack of volunteer and family caregivers, my mother was malnourished. She will likely not die from COVID-19, but from a lack of essential care. At dinner, there was no beverage on her tray. I asked for one and was told to stay in the room and ring the bell next time. Two days later, there was no orange energy drink. I told them that my mother had her energy drink with every meal before the lockdown, and they replied that the nutritionist had stopped it without explaining why. I am allowed to see my mother for 90 minutes (because of COVID-19), which is insufficient in my opinion. I was told to stay in the room with her and to ring if we needed anything, unfortunately after 30 minutes no one came and then I was warned that my 90 minutes were up.
