CHSLD - Hôpital de Lasalle

I went to the emergency department but had to wait more than 3 hours before seeing a doctor. I understand hospitals can be busy, but there was very little communication about the delay. It was frustrating, especially when you come to emergency expecting quicker help. I hope the hospital improves its waiting time and patient communication.

There are literally only 3 or 4 patients in the ER, and I can see 3 or 4 exam rooms open. I assume there are at least a few doctors on duty, but they only saw 4 people in the first three hours. Since then, the queue has been completely frozen for another three hours. I’ve been here from 8:30 PM until 2:30 AM now, and still haven't seen a doctor. The service is beyond frustrating—I have no idea what the doctors are actually doing in there."

Arrived at Emergency around 3:00 a.m. with severe throat pain and inability to swallow even saliva. It is now 7:30 a.m. and I am still waiting to be seen. I understand emergency departments are overwhelmed, but waiting several hours with symptoms that could affect breathing and swallowing feels unsafe and extremely distressing. This experience highlights serious issues with access to timely emergency care, especially overnight. I hope improvements can be made so patients with potentially serious conditions are assessed sooner.

We sent the family doctor's examination form to LaSalle Hospital and got an appointment very quickly. We had an ultrasound and an MRI, which took a total of three weeks, much faster than we expected. The nurses' service attitude was also very good!

My personal experience with the LaSalle Hospital was mainly positive. I found the staff to be extremely helpful, caring, friendly, and professional. Also a big plus is that there is plenty of parking available. In this time of budget cutting, I am glad to have an institution such as the LaSalle Hospital still around to serve our medical needs.
